Citizenship
Canada ranks high among countries where people from around the globe want to come and reside. Canadian citizenship is highly valued, for the good standards of living, quality education and job facilities. A child born in Canada is given citizenship by birth, even if the parents are not Canadian citizens.
On the other hand, a person who is not born in Canada, can also be eligible to apply for citizenship by meeting the below requirements:
- Must have resided in Canada for 3 years as a Permanent Resident in the last 5 years
- Must be 18 years or above
- A minimum of CLB 4 in French or English (for applicants below 54 years of age)
- Must have filed taxes in the last 3 years
- Pass a citizenship test (for applicants below 54 years of age)
